PLEASE HELP DANDABHANGA ASRAMA AFTER CYCLONE FANI
CATEGORY 4-LEVEL CYCLONE FANI HIT THE STATE OF ODISHA ON MAY 3RD, 2019 BRINGING DEVASTATION

Hare Krishna!
Dear Prabhus and Matajis,
I greet you all in the name our Lord, Sri Jagannath, who is known as the saviour of the fallen.
Many of you must have watched, the heart-breaking pictures and videos of the effects of Cyclone Fani in Odisha which was one of the worst of its kind to hit the state in the past 2 decades. While much is said, its impact has been particularly devastating in Sri Jagannath Puri.
Though there have been only some deaths reported, much of the damage was caused by the cyclone’s epic wind speeds that reached up to 260 kms/hour. This was the worst cyclone that had hit Utkal Pradesh (Jagannath Bhumi) in the past 20 years. Unlike the Cyclone in 1999 which lasted for 3 full days, this one lasted for only 4 hours, but still, the devastation brought by it was unimaginable.
Many great shrines and pilgrim spots of the Dham were destroyed and almost all the trees around were uprooted. Even the great Sri Mandir of Puri was not spared. The Temple was so strongly hit by the cyclone that its flag from the Neela Chakra, for the first time ever, fell down to the earth. The signs of the future years to come in this Kali Yuga are now being properly revealed to us from the Dham itself.
Among the various places that were affected within the Atma mandala (soul) of Purushottam Kshetra, comes our Ashram too, located at where the great Danda (staff) of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was installed. All the devotees and the cows residing here were miraculously saved by the mercy of Their Lordships. However, the damage caused by the cyclone to the ashram and its surroundings has been enormous.
The Deities and the residents of our Ashram are left with no proper place to stay ever since the rooftops of the temples and kutirs were blown away by the cyclone. There has been no communication or electricity throughout Puri ever since the cyclone hit. Food supplies have been very short and we are now struggling very hard to arrange for the services to the Deities. Relief measures haven’t yet arrived to this part of the district and every passing hour is now becoming a challenge for us to survive.
We are at our testing times and we humbly appeal to all our dear devotee brothers and sisters to come forward and help us, especially at this time of need.
Lord Jagannath primarily awaits the services of His dear devotees living outside His Dham. Please help us so that we can work to bring everything back here to normalcy again. We need your help SOON and we will deeply appreciate even the smallest contribution you make.
